Heritage Restoration Project, Devonshire Terrace, Cumbria, England
This vast but classically proportioned 4 story Grade II listed Victorian terrace property was originally constructed between 1840 and 1850. It sits adjacent to the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site area.
The current owners appointed IGB Architectural Design to obtain Listed Buildings Consent and Building Regulation Approvals to complete an extensive programme of works including a new kitchen & utility room, alterations to existing bedrooms, new bathrooms and en-suites, alterations to the front entrance and other internal layout changes to the property in order to accommodate a growing family whilst maintaining the properties character and preserving the many historic architectural features throughout, including a spectacular central staircase, ceiling cornices and roundels, Ionic order columns and original marble fireplaces.
