The overall property layouts, room sizes and lack of internal storage of many newer-built properties are increasingly incompatible with the practical day to day needs of busy families, an issue the pandemic has also brought into sharp focus with many now working from home.

IGB Architectural Design were commissioned to design a wrap-around extension along with other internal changes to an existing contemporary property to provide an enlarged kitchen and dining area, a new home office which could also be used as an extra bedroom as well a more practical front entrance with additional internal storage.

The careful consideration of the open ceiling roof with several Velux windows allows for lots of natural light to flood into the new kitchen whilst the building and re-development programmes kept close track of the client’s budgets and allows for an under-cover area to the front entrance whilst the building and re-development programmes kept close track of the client’s budgets.
